Welcome to the IAPS 2015 Convention BLOG!
We will be posting convention information as it becomes
available, things like hotel information (see below), situations on waitlists
and openings on classes, and other information as the convention gets closer.
The Hotel Albuquerque and the Best Western Rio Grande are
both fully booked at this time. You may
of course, contact them and check for cancellations - details are on the IAPS
website at http://www.iapspastel.org/conv15_hotels.php
As an alternative, you may like to consider booking a room
at the NATIVO LODGE. This is a sister hotel with the same owners
as the Hotel Albuquerque. It’s a very
special, small hotel, with lots of local Native American art. You can see more details at their

It‘s 8 miles from the Hotel Albuquerque, but the good news
is, their room rate is considerably lower than the convention hotel, so with
the money you save on the hotel room, you can rent a car or take taxis back and
forth. We expect there to be a number of
convention attendees staying at Nativo Lodge, so you may be able to get
together and share transportation.

505-222-8780. Room rates vary depending
on the type of room booked, and they provide AAA or AARP discounts. You should also ask if they have any special
offers available for the dates you are booking, and check into the cost for one
of their special “artist” rooms which have been hand painted by local artists!
